A discussion of scene thermal properties will address thermal contrast, spectral band selection, and calibrated temperature ranges. Additionally, target spectral properties to consider will be highlighted, including the infrared absorption and emission processes, implementation of spectral filtering, the analysis capabilities of Telops multispectral and hyperspectral infrared imaging products, and the importance of spectral resolution for material characterization.
