Multispectral Cameras

Telops multispectral infrared cameras are equipped with a fast-rotating, 8-position filter wheel that enables splitting of the scene signal into discrete spectral bands that can be used to analyze the spectral signature of the target or scene. The filter wheel mechanism is designed to maximize camera frame rate and allows for image acquisition at up to 800 Hz in synchronized mode (100 Hz per channel simultaneously) or up to the full frame rate capabilities of the camera in fixed-position mode.

Key Benefits

8-position filter wheel
The fast-rotating filter wheel can spin at up to 800 Hz, providing 100 Hz capability for each of the 8 channels.
Easy multichannel imaging
Get multichannel imaging in one easy take.
Dual Use
The MS Camera can be used with a fixed filter wheel or in fast-rotating mode. (Image: Plane engine viewed with fixed wheel)

Examples of applications

Volcanology
Volcanic carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rates play an important role for assessing volcanic hazards and for understanding the role of magma degassing in the biogeochemical cycle of carbon. Here you can see the multispectral IR imaging of volcanic passive degassing at Sulphur Banks, in Hawaii. A variety of spectral bandpass filters were used, including CO2 filters. Data was acquired at relatively high spatial resolution, leading to the successful identification and quantification of emitted carbon dioxide.
Combustion Analysis
